My apprenticeship – the exciting story so far…
I was welcomed in by all of the staff and everyone has been very friendly. I have been doing market research and blog articles, things that I find very interesting and I now have a better understanding of the products that we sell. I have also learned a lot more about the side of ICT and coding, as well as learning about digital marketing for the first time.
I have only had part-time work before starting at Elementary Technology, and I’ve enjoyed every second of my new job so far. It’s already been a great experience for me and I’m excited to keep learning whilst on the job. The environment is fantastic, everyone is very understanding and friendly. This has been great as I have not felt like I’m being put under pressure even though I am doing things which beforehand had put me under pressure.
I know I made the right choice when I decided not to go to university, this environment is much better for me. Whilst at Elementary Technology I get to learn more about the field I’m interested in, and at the same time, I’m getting experience in the world of work. I feel like I’ve been working with Elementary Technology for a long time already.
I prefer the business setting over a classroom and this was reinforced by the week I spent at QA Training centre, the organisation who are providing me with support in my apprenticeship. I enjoyed myself entirely and what we learned was very useful, for example, we learned more about WordPress which is used at Elementary Technology. But the business setting is more beneficial than in the classroom, it is an artificial setting, you don’t get the feeling of being in a professional environment.
I especially enjoyed meeting people who were doing similar things to me and the tutor was very knowledgeable, I am treated like an adult at QA as well, they give you the freedom and they are up for having fun at the same time as learning.
This is an amazing experience for me and I am going to keep going on as I have been so far. I’m very happy that I chose an apprenticeship and am very much looking forward to carrying on with it and hope to continue on with this company.
I feel like it is a wonderful place to work and hope that my colleagues have enjoyed working with me so far. I look forward to continuing with my course with QA as well and getting my qualifications through them.
I am very happy with my decision to take on an apprenticeship over a university course. I have learned so much already, academically and about the world of work. I’m now looking forward to what else I will learn over the next year.
