Interactive Touchscreens – Meadow Primary School, Ellesmere Port
It was only a few years old, and teachers were used to calibrating boards, managing slightly washed-out and dull images and more.
Daniel Handford, one of our Education Technology Consultants, visited Meadow Primary School to discuss a print-related enquiry as part of the school’s ICT Development Plan. Whilst there he offered our Classroom Healthcheck service to support this process, which should always include a plan for classroom display upgrades for the next 3-4 years.
Our Classroom Healthcheck Service (click for details)
This detailed report provided a strategic overview of the school’s classroom display equipment. It highlighted all of the problems that teachers at Meadow Primary were so used to dealing with. Using our traffic light rating for every classroom it showed how good projectors were paired with poor whiteboards and vice versa, making teaching and learning more effective in some classrooms than others.
Taking note of the recommendations in the report, they considered the benefits of interactive touchscreens to transform their learning spaces;
- High-quality visual picture;
- No more projector shadowing;
- No more whiteboard calibration;
- Tablet device integration;
- Massive savings on energy costs and much more!

Meadow Primary School’s classroom display upgrade
With our Classroom Healthcheck Report as evidence, Meadow Primary School approached its governors to discuss appropriate education technology plans for the future.
They decided upon a whole school classroom display upgrade including 14 Mimio interactive touchscreens and visualisers for each classroom. These visualisers would enable them to display 3D items such as electric circuits or non-standardised textbooks on their new Mimio interactive touchscreens.
The school has seen real rewards with teaching and learning due to new interactive touchscreens and visualisers. The Headteacher, Sarah Curtis comments in her letter “how receptive the children now are” and how teachers have “improved their delivery”.
Our Technology Rental Scheme
Sarah Curtis, Headteacher at Meadow Primary, comments in her letter “all staff deserved the same standard of modern equipment in their class to support pupil learning.” With this in mind and considering the school’s budgets, Daniel Handford suggested looking at our technology rental scheme. Find out the benefits of our scheme and watch our YouTube movie.
Ongoing training and support
With Daniel’s help, the staff at Meadow Primary School are now confident using their new classroom display equipment due to ongoing training and support. Unlike others, Elementary Technology offers ongoing training, not just one or two sessions.
