Interactive Touchscreens – Girlington Primary School, Bradford

The school felt their ageing projectors were casting a shadow over the teaching, and upgraded both their displays and their visualisers.

Chris Connolly , our Education Technology Consultant who covers the Bradford area, initially held a detailed fact-finding meeting with the school. Which technology were they using, how were they using it, what were their successes and what were their challenges?

This was supported by provision of our Classroom Healthcheck service (click for details), which provided a strategic overview of the school’s classroom display equipment and allocated a traffic light rating for every classroom. This was based on how the performance of the technology was affecting the quality of teaching and learning.

Girlington Primary School’s classroom display upgrade

With our Classroom Healthcheck Report supporting what they were already experiencing, the leadership at the school decided to proceed with the following:

  • 1 x 84″ Mimio interactive touchscreen for their school hall and dance studio
  • 15 x 70″ Mimio interactive touchscreens; one for each classroom
  • 3 x “55 Mimio interactive touchscreens in break-out areas throughout the school
  • 15 x Vidifox visualisers
  • An upgrade to their Inventry sign-in system to address safeguarding concerns during a fire

Ongoing training and support

With Chris Connolly’s teaching and learning-based training, the staff at Girlington Primary School are now confident using their new classroom display equipment and are looking forward to their next training session – included free of charge with each screen.
