What is EdTalks?

Elementary Technology is excited to announce the upcoming EdTalks event in partnership with Education Roundtables at our very own Leeds Experience Centre on Friday, 14th June. We hope to inspire educators to speak about their experience and share ideas with their peers.

It takes a lot of confidence to talk to an audience about your ideas in a compelling way which is why Ben Brown from Education Roundtables (@EdRountables on X) set the goal of improving his own confidence.

His belief that “everyone has something of value to share, an idea, a thought, a process, a story. It could be anything” really speaks to our goal of improving the capabilities of educators and facilitating their desire to share and grow. With that in mind, we invite you to take part in this unique partnership opportunity as heads of education where you will have the opportunity to elevate your confidence in presenting to similar minded peers using the cutting edge educational technology available at our Experience Centre.

We know that in every educator there is an idea that could reshape the future of education and that its vital to bring those ideas out.

What can you expect from the day?

  • The day will be broken into four different stages with plenty of opportunities to interact with the workshop and to meet your peers.
  • Starting with the morning session, you’ll be able to check out our workshops on boosting your presentation skills and finding your own comfort zone presenting to others.
  • Then there’s a break around midday, allowing you to mingle and connect with the other attendees over some well-earned food.
  • Back into the action with an afternoon session where everyone will have their chance to share their passion and voice in a ~15-minute presentation. Hoping to encourage each other and build confidence in your own passions. Sharing ideas is the goal of the day.
  • Wrapping up the day is a wind down where we encourage you to mix with your peers and discuss the presentations and ideas that were shared. We’d like to facilitate your reflection and networking with our comfortable Experience Centre.
